Week 6 - How safe are you?

Security
I talked about identity theft in an earlier blog but today I want to discuss sending information from your computer or mobile devices.

Understand nothing is full proof but taking measures to be conscious about what you’re doing and how you’re doing it could save so many headaches later on.

Varies uses of encryption can protect consumers internets and networks.  Encryption converts readable data into unreadable characters to prevent unauthorized access.  Most encryption keys use a combination of algorithms.

  •      Digital signature – an encrypted code that a person, website or organization attaches to an electronic message to verify the identity of the sender.
  •         Digital certificate – a notice that guarantees a user or a website is legitimate.
  •         Transport Layer Security (TLS) – provides encryption of all data that passes between a client and an internet server.
  •         Secure HTTP – this allows an encryption scheme for data that passes between a client and a server.
  •         Virtual Private Network (VPN) – Mobile users can access company networks through VPN.
