Week 1 - Intro to Project

Full of Hot Air

A couple weeks ago I had an incident outside my house, which I woke up to a flat tire.  My idea for this blog actually came from that incident.

I called OnStar Roadside assistance and they sent someone to help me, but he didn’t bring an air compressor on his tow truck.  What kind of towing service doesn’t have an air compressor on board especially when they know the call is fixing a flat tire?  He suggested I take my donut tire to a gas station to put air in it to be safe.  So I did.   What other choice did I have other than run the risk of blowing out the only tire I had and I couldn’t do that.
The first air pump was out of service.  It was very rusty and pretty old looking like it hasn’t been updated since they put it in; Understandable why it is out of service.  Then I had to drive about two miles down the road to another gas station.  There I found a more modernized air pump but this one I had to pay $1.00 for air.  Money for air?  How does that make sense? It’s air.  Yes, it’s compressed but its still air, air is free and should remain so, no matter what form.
So, that is my main goal to revamp the air pumps and make them more high tech and see if we can create an app to see find out who offers free air pumps because no one should ever have to pay for something that is rightfully theirs.

You shouldn't have to pay for air
that's just not right!!!

The Air/Water machine at the 76 Station on Watt & Fair Oaks Oh my goodness.  This one takes credit cards.  That is very high tech and convenient but it's $1.25 but if you pay cash..it only cost $.75.  This is what they call a two-tier system, and it's apparently legal to do.  I haven't have seen this done in NYS as of yet but I will keep my eyes open not that I have seen now.

That's the way it's suppose to be!  Use gas purchases to update the outdated hardware and keep it FREE!
